Driving Instructor Training

Do you live in the Margate, Ramsgate or Broadstairs districts? Are you thinking about a change in career? Have you ever considered becoming a driving instructor?

At Progress Driver Training we offer all the training needed to fulfil your ambition.

Some of the advantages of being a Driving Instructor are

  • Potential earnings of £500 a week
  • Flexible working hours
  • Great job satisfaction
  • Meeting new interesting people daily
  • And much much more!

To become an approved driving instructor you will need to have held a full UK or EU driving license for four out of the last six years, no convictions in the last ten years, have less than six points on your license, have an enhanced CRB check and be able to read a number plate from a distance of 27.5 metres. To qualify you must pass three stringent tests. The first test is a theory test, second part is an advanced driving test and the third part is a test on your intructional ability.

At Progress Driver Training we can provide all the training, help and understanding that is needed for you to pass these tests.  Unlike some other training schools where they ask for full payment in advance, sometimes as much as £4000 we take payment on a pay as you go basis. All training will be carried out in one of our tuition vehicles

  • On completion of your training we can also arrange rental of a dual controlled lease car, subject to status and a guaranteed job with Progress Driver and Instructor Training

Can’t thank this man enough !!
Jim was very professional but also very friendly and down to earth. He helped me through everything from my theory right through to my part 3 and wouldn’t have got through without his excellent teaching skills and knowledge. If you are thinking about becoming a driving instructor contact Jim – wouldn’t be where I am now without him !

I decided to become a driving instructor and was recommended to use Progress Driver Training and Jim Cole to help me achieve this.

Right from the start, I felt completely comfortable with Jim. He was totally honest about the whole process and told me, right from the word go, that this was a hard process and that I would have to work hard, but also that it would be totally worth it.

The training itself was great and always really thorough. Each lesson was tailored to how I was learning but was always fun, as well as informative. I used to look forward to my lessons and Jim was always there and happy to answer any questions I had, even when it wasn’t my lesson!

Jim really did everything he could to make me a good instructor and prepare me for the tests I had coming up.

The training was great value for money and I paid per lesson, so I didn’t have to pay upfront, as some companies insist upon.

I went on to pass all of my instructor exams first time and I am now a fully qualified driving instructor, with a full diary and, best of all, I really love my job!

I started my training to become a driving instructor with Jim in 2013, all of my training was on a 1- to-1 basis and I can’t recommend Jim highly enough. I found the structure of the lessons well thought out, interesting and more importantly fun. It was hard work, but with Jim’s help and support I reached my goal. On completing my training I joined a local school but I am now, some 13 months later, about to go it alone.

Great training, great instructor and someone who I found really cared about my training and was always available to answer any questions, or problems that I had.

I can’t thank or recommend Jim enough.
